Sticks And Stones

All beauty is relative, and yet it is also clearly defined by our society. With perfection seemingly more important than anything else, everyone struggles with self-doubt, sometimes even self-hatred. The constant message that we should conform into the latest tiny body-shape kills any individualism and destroys confidence. But these repressive stereotypes are wrong, everyone is not equal, so it is time to redefine this 'normal' and create a new standard. "Sticks And Stones" highlights these wrongs and presents a critical confrontation of todays delusion of perfectionism. Focusing on physical flaws, the understanding of beauty and self-love are questioned. Are deficiencies human or unacceptable? When turns different into unattractive? This series is a thought-provoking journey into one's own moral understanding, and the resulting steps towards self acceptance within our own dogmatic culture.
